Living with Healing Herbs - Workshop 1 June 23rd

This is the first of Five Summer Workshops where you will get be introduced to the world of Herbal Medicine. You will meet many herbs and hear about their therapeutic abilities. Historically, many pharmaceutical medications derived from naturally occurring compounds found in plants. For instance,  aspirin is an  isolated compound from the bark of white willow tree or the heart medicine Digoxin is found in Foxglove. We will look into “natural” medicine and understand huge importance of safety and regulations for the uses of natural herbs and herbal products. Also, we will get introduced to 10 common local herbs and discuss their herbal actions and uses for ailments.
